In feb. 10, 2013, I visited the Baltimore Aquarium with my wife and children, however, when we left the aquarium caught my attention the torsk and enter with my 10 year old son. It was a unique experience, the two were very happy to visit and learn about its history.

My wife and I were on a trip to Baltimore last weekend, and with my sister-in-law forward deployed with the US Navy, we decided to stop and see the Torsk. Had a great time, enjoyed seeing the inside of the sub, and was truly amazed at how small some of the sleeping quarters are.

For antique vacuum tubes and other electronic parts, you might try the following:
ANTIQUE ELECTRONIC SUPPLY, 6221 South Maple,
Tempe, AZ 85283
Fax: 1-800-706-6789
e-mail: sales@tubesandmore.com
For other parts, you might check e-bay. Incidentally, if Patriot's Point cannot raise the funds to repair Clamagore, you might obtain parts from them before it is towed out to sea and sunk as a reef.

Are any of the engines operable such as on the Cod, Cobia, Silversides and Pampanito?

I arrived on the Torsk in Norfolk just after thanksgiving of 1962. Shortly after arriving (3 hours) we got underway. This was quite exciting for a young seaman. This was my first underway in a 20 year career. The lessons learned from Doc Web, EN1 Shore and MM1 Jones are remembered to this day. Lessons learned on this submarine are still serving me in design engineering at Kennedy Space Center in 2013. Thank you all!!!!

As for your wish list, have you checked out e-bay? Not long ago, there was a diving klaxon listed for sale (at over $300.)

Of all the tours I have made of historic ships, the tour of the USS Torsk that I made on 29 September, 2012, was by far the best. The vounteer crew on the boat that day was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the Torsk, and about submarines in general. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for a very educational and enjoyable tour. I will certainly recommend this tour to anyone interested in submarines.

I'm interested in cold war era submarines. Thanks for preserving memories and tons of interesting facts.

I googled my father's name this afternoon because I was thinking of him and missing him. He passed away in January of 2000. Lo and behold, google took me to a picture of several men sitting on the Torsk and there was my father!! I can not begin to explain to you what a gift this picture was to me today. One of those days when you are missing a loved one so much that it hurts and there he was smiling at me when he was a young man. Thank you for posting these pictures and for this web site. I plan on spending more time here looking through all the information. What a great site!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
