Hello, my father Wayne l. Benton (aka Sonnie) served on the Torsk from 1963 to 1966. He is intrested in making connections with former buddies from the Torsk and or fond info on them also helping give any information that can be added from his time in the service.

as quartermaster, had the pleasure of steering alongside uss cubera(sailing down the gulf of st.laurence, at night., if memory serves). I believe it was cubera, we operated with suborn 6, in 1964. have toured 7 diesel boats, (is there any other kind?), found tours outstanding, esp. boats still in commission at the time.have read dex Armstrongs after battery many times. submariners, I salute you.

Yep, that's right, I'm also a Torsk(e). Norwegian name. Had an old shipmate bring me a flyer, brochure from Baltimore once about the boat, and thought I'd visit the website. Nice!

My great Grandfather aka Pop Pop served on the ship in 1945. His name was Rupert Castleberry. One of the kindest men and loving grandfathers! He passed away just shy of his 100th birthday and loved a long healthy life! He settled down in Texas where he spent his last years. Would love to hear about other family members that may have had family that served with him at the time!

While recently visiting family in Baltimore I had the opportunity to tour the Torsk. I was impressed and amazed to learn of her service. As the son of a WW II veteran, I can only imagine the bravery of each crew member. To the greatest generation who served, I sincerely thank you for protecting our freedom.
