The after engine room contains main engines number three and four, connected to generators three and four. Number three on the starboard side is named "DAISY MAE", and number four on the port side carries the name "LIL ABNER".

Below the platform deck on the centerline are the air conditioning compressor units. Aft of each engine there is a fuel oil purifier, and in the overhead forward are large hand wheels used to open the hull valves for exhaust. There is also a hatch here for crew use.

When decommissioned in 1968, these two engines were filled with a preservative similar to cosmoline, and have not been turned since.

During the 1960s this compartment was painted white and gray.  After the Torsk became a museum it was painted green.  Beginning in September 2002, volunteers have been restoring the After Engine Room.
