Torsk Work Weekend 6

October 20-22, 2000

FRIDAY - Page 2

The biggest project for Friday was the skid move. As soon as the boat closed to the public, the FTR steps were removed, and work began on rigging chainfalls and block and tackle for lifting the skids out.

On the left, Matt Harris rigs the block and tackle to the tang on the sail. In the room, the gang prepares to attach lifting straps to the first skid, stored centerline in the lower flats.

Ramjet and Cool Bob worked up in the overhead to rig the chainfalls at the torpedo loading hatch. Once they were rigged, lifting began and the skid started it's journey to the deck.

On the left, Dave Thames talks to the topside crew while the rest of the gang works to get the chainfall rigged inside the escape trunk for better lifting angle. After things were ready, the topside crew hauled away as Guns guides the skid up through the hatch.
