USS Torsk SS-423

MK45 ASTOR Load, 12 November 2005

Dave is peeling the shrink wrap off the afterbody. The sections were wrapped before leaving the paint shop to protect them during transit.

In Maneuvering, Big Al works on attaching the rubber padding to the torpedo spacers for the skid. The spacers will be used to help seat the 19" torpedo on the skid made for a 21" fish.

The afterbody goes on the skid.

The bodies are lined up and the clamping rings are put in place.

Dave and Bruce (behind the torpedo) tighten up on the clamping ring between the tail section and the afterbody.

We're halfway there!
