Pete drills bolt holes as Tim holds the wood in place.
Forward on the deck, Midshipmen and an Officer Rep from the Naval Academy remove old plywood and 2x4's from the last section of original teak left on the boat. Several damaged pieces were replaced with scrap teak removed from the aft section at the May work weeknd. The lighter colored wood is the PT pine laid down back in May. The Mids did an excellent job, and we are always happy to have them aboard!
John Cole and Jon Cooper carry the new after flag staff over from Taney. Jon is an OS2 at COMPHIPRON 2 det 213 in Indianapolis, and came out with John Cole to help out on the boat. It was a pleasure to have him aboard!!
Doc talks to Harry Leiberman, proprietor of The Submarine Store (www.SubmarineStore.com), a web site "run by submariners for submariners". Harry spent time assisting John and John in Sonar.
